When my own cholesterol and blood pressure started to creep up toward and slightly beyond the recommended safety levels in my very early 30’s, I woke up a little bit. I mean, I’m not perfect (funnel cake and ice cream used to always call my name at the fair), but I would generally have considered my lifestyle pretty healthy. So what’s up? I’m not a believer in destiny or predetermined fate, so if I am to avoid the health problems I’ve witnessed in so many, I had to figure out what was going on, and change something.
I had always considered myself an active, healthy person. I kept busy through work and exercise, and I had always made an effort to eat right, following tips on tv and in the magazines. More protein, less carbs, real sugar instead of sweeteners, olive oil over canola, or whatever the current tip of the day was.
I have a lengthy family history of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and obesity and I was afraid I was heading down a bad path. I have come to respect the existence of family history, but the ending to my “story” I get to write for myself.
Once I started researching the undeniable effects of diet on health, I could not look back. It’s been an exciting journey of shocking revelations and facts that were right in front of me all along if only I had been open to listening.
The purpose of this blog is to share with you the things I wish someone had shared with me sooner. In the seven years since I started it, I have learned, and grown, and perfected a system that really and truly works!
My name is Christin. I’m a happy, healthy vegan, and I’m pleased you’ve given me the opportunity to help you, even just a little. Welcome to your own adventure.
